Kazan residents and guests arriving in the historic district of the city should remember not only its historical buildings and cuisine, but also the special flavor of welcoming the beloved holiday. Such were the instructions given by Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin to the new prefect of "The Old Town", Marat Usmanov, in the course the mayor's working visit to The Old Tatar Settlement.
Marat Usmanov shared his ideas on New Year decorations of "The Old Town." A large New Year tree will be put up on the waterfront of Lake Kaban for the holidays. "We also plan to hold an ethnic-themed theatrical performance," said the prefect. Among M. Usmanov's other proposals was celebrating the ancient Tatar holiday "Kaz Omese."
The Kazan mayor said that on the eve of the New Year holidays, the Old Tatar Settlement must find its "shtick." "We must show our guests the Old Tatar Settlement specialty. It is important that visitors to the Old Tatar Settlement remember not only its historical buildings and cuisine, but also the special flavor of its New Year celebrations," said the head of the city.
