Performances, circus show, ski sprints and concerts: a marathon of New Year's activities is underway in Kazan

Forty-two out of fifty-five New Year’s festive sites opened in Kazan. The New Year's marathon with more than 170 events continues. On the eve of the New Year and during the holidays, performances, concerts, street performances of circus artists and sports events will be held for residents and tourists of the city. Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the city Guzel Sagitova shared the details of the activities at the Business Monday meeting.

The New Year's activities started in Kazan with the arrival of Father Frost train. The mobile residence arrived in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan on December 5, more than 6.5 thousand young citizens visited the festive program.

Two thousand people visited the opening of the New Year’s site near the Kazan Family Center. KyshDaKar-fest trading sites have already started working here; children's performances and concerts will also take place here. The festive site will be open until January 14.

From January 1 to 5, Kazan cultural centers will present performances at the Family Center. The program includes games with Father Frost and Snow Maiden, fairy-tale heroes and the symbol of the year – the Rabbit. On January 7, youth centers will present their program, and on January 8, educational institutions. After fabulous performances for the guests of the festive site, from January 1 to 4, artists of the Kazan City Philharmonic will perform New Year's songs in Russian and Tatar daily at 17.00.

“Also during the holidays, performances “Emotions of Father Frost” and “Suitcase of Miracles” produced by young artists of cultural centers and circus will take place in Kazan parks. The performers will immerse the audience in the magic of the New Year and entertain them with dances,”- G.Sagitova said. “Special thanks to the Kazan circus, which for the first time developed the format of street performances and organized performances in parks and squares of the city,”- I. Metshin noted.

Performances will also be shown in the yard of the Government Agencies of the Kazan Kremlin. From January 1 to 5, performances of the “Tall Brothers” Moscow Street Theater will take place here.

G.Sagitova reminded that Kazan residents would have an opportunity to spend New Year's Eve at the skating rink in the Black Lake Park and on the main festive site at the Kazan Family Center. For residents, a broadcast of congratulations from the President of Russia and a festive program will be organized. Kazan artists will perform New Year's hits together with the guests of the holiday. The program will last until 2:00 on January 1 at the Family Center and until 3:00 in the Black Lake Park.

More than 80 events are planned for fans of an active lifestyle during the New Year holidays – tournaments, championships and different competitions. Participants will compete in cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, ice hockey, speed skating, athletics, gymnastics, chess, handball and other sports.

Special attention in the preparation and holding of festive events will be paid to public, road and fire safety, as well as issues of cleaning the city.
