Over 10 years, 17 million square meters of roads have been repaired and built in Kazan
In Kazan, 16.9 million square meters of roads have been built and renovated in 10 years. The total area of city roads increased to 22.24 million square meters, and the indicator of their regulatory state was 84%. This was announced reported report to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin by the chairman of the Land Improvement Committee Igor Salakhutdinov.
Last year, a highway was opened on Mekhovshchikov Street - part of the Big Kazan Ring, Osinovskaya street was reconstructed, the first section of the relief road at the Gorky Highway and the U-turn loop on the Orenburg Tract were built. Under the Safe and Quality roads national project, six of the most worn-out sections of roads with a length of 8.4 km were renovated.
This year, the construction of the Voznesensky Tract, the repair of the bridge on Nazarbayev Street, the road network, as well as the implementation of the Our Yard republican program and the Safe and Quality roads national project will continue.
According to Igor Salakhutdinov, the repair of roads and the work on elimination of traffic accident concentration places allows to reduce the number of accidents. In 2022, the number of traffic accidents was 9% less than a year earlier, despite the fact that the number of vehicles is growing annually.
Under the Our Yard program, in three years, the territories of 1,356 apartment buildings have been landscaped, the total area of the renewed asphalt pavement was about 2 million square meters. Last year, the improvement was carried out on the territory of 466 houses with an area of 530 thousand square meters. In 2023, work is planned at 12 sites under the Safe and Quality roads national project.
The Chairman of the Land Improvement Committee also focused on the issue of traffic jams on the Mamadyshsky tract. Today, in order to solve the problem, together with developers, the issue of financing has been worked out and the design of interchanges on the Mamadyshsky tract has begun.
