In Kazan, the last fountain complex was launched on the square at the Tinchurin Theatre. The restoration of the fountains began in late April and was completed recently. As many as 31 fountains were launched in the city. The oldest fountain, in the Leninsky Garden, was opened in 1894, while the newest ones in the Zilant Square were installed in 2025.
Igor Kulyazhev, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee, reported to the Mayor that there are now 31 fountains in the city. A fountain complex was launched on the square at the Tinchurin Theatre.
The first fountains to open this season were those on the Kazanka Embankment and in the square on Zorge Street. Then, the oldest fountain in the Leninsky Garden (installed in 1894), was turned on. The newest fountains in Kazan, in the Yelmay Children's Park and in the Zilant Square (updated in 2025), also began operating. The smallest fountains on Baumana Street, such as the Frog, Doves, and Su Anasy, were also launched.
The largest city fountain, located on the Bulak channel, has been launched as well. Fountains decorate many parks in Kazan, including the Belinsky Square, the Rybak Garden, the Petrov Park, and the squares in front of the Said-Galeev Recreational Center in Derbyshki and the Railway Workers' Recreational Center in Yudino.
The preparation of the fountains began in late April. Before the fountains were reopened, repair crews inspected each fountain. First, the shields that covered the pools and equipment during the winter were removed. Then, the pumps were installed. These pumps are removed during the winter to prevent damage. After cleaning, they are stored in a warehouse throughout the winter, and they are reinstalled when the season begins.
