(KZN.RU, August 13, by Alisa Rozanova) School renovation should be completed on time and with high quality. This task was set by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, who inspected renovation work at two high schools of the city.
He first visited Tatar high school No. 15 on Malo-Moskovskaya Street in the Kirov District. The educational institution is housed in two buildings, one of which is the former Ponomarevskaya Women's Gymnasium. The building was constructed in 1867 and is considered to be a historical landmark of national importance.
Ilsur Metshin inspected the classrooms and the library, where repairs are underway. The mayor instructed to complete the design review of the historic building, and, following consultation with Tatarstan's Ministry of Culture, to start emergency response work and facade repairs.
The next school that the mayor inspected was No. 2 on Shamil Usmanov Street in the Moskovsky District, which is intended to be used as the Center of National Education.
Summing up, the mayor instructed the contractors to complete the work on time. "There’s a lot to be done, but nobody has abolished September 1. Everything must be completed on time and with high quality," concluded the mayor.
