(Kazan, KZN.RU, August 18, by Adel Galiyev). Over 17 thousand people attended "The Cultural Shift" summer street festival, said Aigul Gornysheva, the head of the culture department of the Kazan Executive Committee, at today's Business Monday meeting.
Ajgul Gornysheva reminded that from July 18 to August 10, a summer street festival entitled "The Cultural Shift" was held for the first time on the waterfront of Lake Kaban and proved to be highly successful. Kazan residents and visitors posed for pictures with the living sculptures and enjoyed the performances of street artists: dancers, musicians and cartoonists. "The festival was attended by over 17 thousand people. Some 100 young artists and 30 art groups were featured in the program," said the speaker. She noted that, in the opinion of the viewers, the most striking were the performances of the youth experimental theater "The Shift" and the "Genasi" fire show.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted that "The Cultural Shift" was a success. "I think the festival went off very well; the living sculptures were new to Kazan residents and really livened up the waterfront. We hope that in the future the festival will make further progress," he concluded.
