Sabantuy widely celebrated in Astana
(Kazan, KZN.RU, September 20). The Tatar national holiday Sabantuy was held in Astana during the Days of Tatarstan in Kazakhstan. The president of Tatarstan and the Kazan mayor, akim of Astana, Imangali Tasmagambetov, and other officials were guests of honor at the holiday of the plow.
The festivities were held in the square near the shopping center "Khan Shatyr." A township decorated in traditional Tatar style awaited Astana residents and their guests. There was a presentation of the industrial and agricultural potential of Tatarstan, concerts, sports events, as well as tasting of Tatar national dishes.
Recall that from September 19 to 20, the Days of the Republic of Tatarstan were held in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A Tatarstan delegation of some 700 people, including government officials, representatives of the business and educational community, cultural figures and 65 CEOs of big enterprises, arrived in the country's capital Astana. Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, head of the Kazan Executive Committee Igor Sivov and deputy head of the Executive Committee Leila Fazleyeva attended the official events.
