(Kazan, KZN.RU, September 3) President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in Russia Rüdiger von Fritsch and representatives of German business circles.
The meeting, held in the Kazan Kremlin, was attended by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. Recall that the ambassador arrived in Kazan to participate in the opening of the German-Russian Institute of New Technologies.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the republic, one of the regions of Russia, is working closely with Germany in many areas of high-tech equipment and mechanical engineering. Currently, a total of 90 Tatarstan enterprises cooperate with German businesses. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, energy, medicine, and education could become the most promising areas for cooperation.
He named cooperation in the field of science and education as particularly important. "We pin great hopes on our project of the German-Russian Institute of New Technologies," said Rustam Minnikhanov. According to him, this institute will give students great opportunities to obtain an education in technical disciplines, which are very popular in Russia.
In his turn, Rüdiger von Fritsch also praised the cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan as one of the regions of Russia.
During the meeting, the German businessmen made a number of proposals for cooperation with Tatarstan, including medicine, education, research and the creation of an engineering center.
